Sharon: Hi Joanne.. Closeness to God is wonderful.. but I want to get much closer yet!! It costs a great deal though.. because we must die to self.. Which is humbling.. because we think we know best and we don't.. and to totally look to God for everything just goes against our flesh.. but to know God more is the greater gift and He will help us with all things.. Be Healed..

 

This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
"You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them."

Matthew 13:13-15

I was reading this passage the other day.. and this really stood out to me.. Highlighted above..

We could read it like this..

If indeed we do see.. it is because our spiritual eyes are opened.. Not seeing what the flesh sees.. but what the Spirit sees..

If indeed we do hear.. it is because our spiritual ears are opened.. Not hearing what the flesh hears.. but what the Spirit hears..

Which means we do therefore have understanding..

It means we do therefore perceive!!

Our hearts are soft and humbled before God ready to receive.. like the good soil in Matt 13 which produces an abundant spiritual harvest when the seed which is the Word is planted into it!!

We keep our eyes opened and our ears inclined to His word.. and we speak and live according to His implanted Word within us which is Spirit..

This is the encouraging part.. God Our Father says..

I will heal you!

The reason why the leper above was healed by Jesus is..

* He must have heard that there was someone in his region that had compassion.. who touched the sick and healed them..

* Maybe he had seen evidence of someone who had been healed and he believed.. He did not his sickness keep him from coming to Jesus.. even though he was an outcast..

Whatever the reason.. he came to Jesus and was healed..

Jesus promised us that He is with us always.. He has never changed.. if we can believe He is with us we must also believe He heals us..

Jesus had compassion when He was on earth and healed those who were sick.. and even though He went back to heaven.. He did not change once He got there.. He is still the same today and His Spirit lives within those who will believe and wants to heal us..

Those who will hear and believe .. and see with understanding.. will be healed..
